Dear Parents and SWC Grads,

This year’s Graduation is being held on Friday, May 24th.  The ceremony is at the University of Calgary (Jack Simpson Gymnasium) at 8:30 am, followed by the Graduation Banquet at the BMO Centre (Stampede Grounds) in the evening.  Due to information recently received by the BMO, the dates for ticket sales for the Graduation Banquet have changed.  Please read through the following information carefully.

Ticket Sales Information:

Tickets for this year’s Graduation Banquet will be sold on Monday, April 8th (4:00 pm) – Monday, April 22nd (6:00 pm).

There will be no tickets sold online after the April 22nd deadline.

Students who miss this deadline and wish to attend the banquet will be charged a 15% surcharge (about $20 extra) by the BMO.  Absolutely no tickets will be added after May 8th.

We are using EventBrite for ticket sales this year.  This is a private event, which means that tickets are not available to the public.  Graduating students will be able to access the EventBrite site through their CBE Student ID Number.  This can only be used once, so their ID number should not be shared.  The ID number is listed as an “access code” that will give students the ability to purchase tickets and reserved seating.

Tickets will cost $130 (including 5% GST) and online service fees.  While we understand that this is expensive, prices for the BMO have increased and we have had to adjust prices accordingly. The Grad Banquet is a non-profit event.  The price is to cover the buffet meal and service fee, as set by the BMO.

The buffet meal will include Halal beef and options for vegetarians. You will be prompted to input any allergies into EventBrite when you purchase your tickets. Please DO NOT list “pork” as an allergy.  The buffet is pork-free and those responses need to be filtered out before submitting to the BMO.

To purchase tickets:

  • Graduating students will be allowed to purchase a maximum of 5 tickets each.
  • It is possible to buy 5 tickets in one online transaction, but at different tables.  Please ensure that once you have been given access to the online system, you purchase ALL of your tickets in one transaction.
  • If you require more than 5 tickets, please email Ms. Breadner (labreadner@cbe.ab.ca) with your request.  A request does not guarantee that you will get extra tickets, but every effort will be made to accommodate requests.
  • The BMO Centre requires us to have FULL TABLES of 8, so please arrange the seating for you and your guests to create a table of 8 (or as close as possible).
  • There will be a limited amount of tables available for 10 people – if you have a full table of 10, you should purchase tickets as early as possible, as these will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please DO NOT select a table for 10 online unless you can fill it!
  • Graduates hoping to sit together should purchase their tickets at the same time online to ensure that they are able to reserve the same table, or multiple tables together.
  • The organizer reserves the right to combine smaller tables together at the end of the ticket sales, to create full tables of 8 or 10.
