10. The challenge exam will be on Thursday, August 28 at 1:00 PM. The location will be posted outside of the main office. No graphing calculators permitted in the exam. If you intend to write this challenge, please email Ms. Giannoutsos before August 24 bagiannoutsos@cbe.ab.ca

Student Services
We hope you are having a wonderful summer! We look forward to working with you in the 2025-2026 school year. Please see back-to-school information below:
Back to School
Once classes are settled, we will be back to booking regular appointments. See our Guidance Secretary, Ms. Ofner after Monday, September 15 to book an appointment with your counsellor. We will not be booking appointments for course correction requests – these happen via online form only before school starts. More information below.
Next Year Timetables
Student timetables will be visible to students and families in MyCBE / PowerSchool by mid- August once the school year rollover has completed.
Course Correction Requests
Classes at Churchill next year are full; it is difficult for counsellors to adjust timetables. Students are asked to ensure that they follow the guidelines below before they submit a request. Requests will be processed in priority order.
Students will be able to request course corrections for a limited period in August (upon timetable visibility mid-August until 11:59pm on August 28)using the Fall Course Correction Form 2025-26, subject to availability (form is not active until timetables are visible in mid-August). Students may fill in ONE form so please ensure all requests are included in one submission. For equity and tracking purposes, all change requests must be submitted through the online form; emails and phone calls will not be considered.
Please note the following considerations for requesting a course change:
- Timetables may change up until the first day of school as teaching assignments change and counsellors balance classes to ensure the smallest class size possible
- Students are expected to be available for all four periods of the school day. We cannot accommodate schedule preferences based on part-time work, extracurricular commitments, etc.
- Changes will not be made based on teacher, time of day, spare, or semester preferences. We cannot accommodate pairing students with preferred peers.
- Teaching assignments often change, and the teacher listed on a student’s timetable may not be the same teacher when the class begins.
- Due to the high volume of requests, counsellors will only contact a student if there are questions regarding their schedule. Students can assume that any possible changes will have been made by the first day of school.
- If a counsellor needs to see a student in-person to discuss timetable concerns, a placeholder named “See Counsellor” will be added to their schedule. Only students with “See Counsellor” in their timetable will be seen in the first week of classes. Counsellors will call these students out of class to review and fix any timetable conflicts.
Fall Online Courses
Student Services is now accepting requests for Fall CBe-learn online concurrent course registrations. Please note that students will not be enrolled until after counsellors are back to school in late August and courses are subject to availability. Please see CBe-learn’s website to view course offerings. Students should complete their own registration using the following link: CBe-learn Fall 2025 Course Request Please note that online courses do not count towards overall courseload at Churchill. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of three in-person courses per semester, subject to credit attainment.
